# Current Date & Time

> Capture the date and time when the action runs.

**Current Date & Time** has no inputs. It reads the clock at execution time,
not when the workflow is saved or opened.

## Output

| Output   | Type        | Description                          |
| -------- | ----------- | ------------------------------------ |
| **Date** | Date & Time | The instant at which the action ran. |

Use **Format Date/Time** afterward when another action needs text in a
particular timezone or display style.
